Free a Girl
Free a Girl is an international organization dedicated to freeing girls from forced prostitution and fighting against child prostitution worldwide. The work of Free a Girl is invaluable and offers psychological, medical and legal help to victims in addition to freeing girls from prostitution.
Rebelle Amsterdam wants to support Free a Girl and its mission through a donation. Rebelle stands for women empowerment where women are allowed to be who they want to be, celebrating every you! By being or doing one, you don't have to exclude the other. That’s the power of duality, the Rebel and the Belle coming together. By supporting women's empowerment and celebrating diversity and individuality, Rebelle shows its commitment to supporting women worldwide.
To make this donation possible, Rebelle will donate all proceeds from the sale of our Brazilian Bonfim Ribbons to Free a Girl. These are special lucky ribbons, traditionally sold near the church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim in Salvador, Brazil. The ribbons are seen as a symbol of good luck and protection and are popular around the world. Rebelle decided to use the sale of these bands to contribute to Free a Girl's important mission.
BONFIM LUCKY RIBBONS
The Bonfim lucky ribbons come from the vibrant city of Salvador Bahia, Brazil and each has a different meaning. These ribbons say "Lembrança do Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia" which means; "Souvenir from Lord of Bahia of good fortune." Let someone tie the ribbon around your wrist with three knots. With every knot, you may make a wish. The wishes are stored in the knot. Wear the ribbon until it falls off, and all your wishes will come true.
